About PineGardens

Who is PineGardens and what do you sell?

PineGardens is a home decor retailer operated by Manly Chic LLC, based in Niles, Ohio. We are not a manufacturer. We source and sell handwoven plant baskets — seagrass, jute, and cotton rope — for people who want their indoor plants to look like they belong in the space, not just sitting in a plastic nursery pot.

We ship across the contiguous United States. Every product on our site has been reviewed for accurate dimensions and material information before we list it.

Why should I buy from PineGardens instead of somewhere else?

We focus on one product category — woven plant baskets — and we take the details seriously. We check that the dimensions listed match the actual inner opening, that the material name is accurate, and that the liner information is clear on every product page. We are a small operation and we read every email we receive. If something is wrong with your order, we fix it.

How do you choose which baskets to carry?

We check three things before adding a basket to our site: the inner diameter is accurate and matches the stated nursery pot size, the material is correctly identified (seagrass, jute, and cotton rope behave differently and we do not mix up the names), and the liner information is clearly stated. Some baskets include a plastic liner; some do not. We say which is which on every product page.


Product questions

What size basket do I need for my plant?

Measure the outer diameter of your nursery pot, then choose a basket with an inner opening at least 1 inch wider. This gives enough clearance to slide the pot in and out easily.

  • 6-inch nursery pot: choose a basket with a 7-inch or wider inner opening
  • 8-inch nursery pot: choose a basket with a 9-inch or wider inner opening
  • 10-inch nursery pot: choose a basket with an 11-inch or wider inner opening
  • 12-inch nursery pot: choose a basket with a 13-inch or wider inner opening

Do the baskets come with a plastic liner?

Some do and some do not. Each product page clearly states whether a liner is included. The seagrass baskets with handles (L through 3XL) and the Set of 2 include a plastic liner. The small seagrass basket ($15.99), the jute basket with handle ($17.99), and the cotton rope basket ($26.99) do not include a liner.

If your basket does not include a liner, place a plastic drip saucer under the nursery pot before sliding it into the basket. This protects the weave from moisture.

Can I plant directly into the basket?

No. Woven baskets are not waterproof and are not designed to hold soil. Always use a plastic nursery pot or a container with drainage inside the basket. Planting directly into the weave will cause the fiber to degrade quickly.

Can these baskets be used outdoors?

No. Our baskets are designed for indoor use only. Natural fibers like seagrass and jute are not weather-resistant. Exposure to rain, direct sunlight, or high outdoor humidity will shorten the life of the basket significantly and may cause mold or fiber breakdown. Do not use these baskets outdoors.

Why does my basket look slightly different from the photo?

Our baskets are handwoven from natural plant fibers. Two things are normal and expected:

  • Color variation: Seagrass color ranges from green-tinted to golden-tan depending on the harvest. The color shifts toward golden over the first few months indoors. This is not a defect.
  • Shape variation: Handwoven items are not perfectly uniform. The rim may not be perfectly round and the weave may have minor irregularities. Dimensions are approximate with up to 0.5 inch tolerance.

If your basket looks materially different from the product page description (not just color or texture), contact us within 7 days of delivery.

Will my seagrass basket get moldy?

It can, but it is preventable. Mold happens when moisture stays in contact with the fiber for an extended period. To prevent mold:

  • Keep the plastic nursery pot inside the basket — do not let water pool in the space between the pot and the basket wall
  • Empty drip saucers within 30 minutes of watering
  • Keep the basket in a room with normal airflow — avoid closed bathrooms or high-humidity spaces

If you see early mold spots, blot with a cloth dampened in a mix of one part white vinegar and two parts water. Let air dry completely. See our care guide for full maintenance instructions.

Are the baskets safe for homes with pets and kids?

Yes. Seagrass, jute, and cotton rope are natural plant-based fibers with no synthetic coatings or toxic dyes. The baskets have no sharp edges. Many of our customers are pet owners and parents of young children. The baskets are lightweight and will not shatter if knocked over, which is one reason people choose them over ceramic pots.

We do not recommend letting pets chew on any basket — not because of toxicity, but because chewing will damage the weave.


Orders and payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept PayPal only. Through your PayPal account you can pay with your PayPal balance, a linked debit card, a linked credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), or a linked bank account. PayPal also offers a guest checkout option if you do not have a PayPal account — look for the guest option on the PayPal payment screen.

Will I be charged any hidden fees or subscriptions?

No. Every purchase is a one-time transaction. The total shown at checkout is the final amount you will be charged. We do not offer subscriptions and we do not store your payment information for future charges.

Can I cancel or change my order after placing it?

Contact us within 24 hours of placing your order. If the order has not yet shipped, we can cancel or modify it. After 24 hours, the order may already be in processing. If it has shipped, the standard return policy applies once you receive it.

Shipping and delivery

How much does shipping cost?
  • Free standard shipping on orders over $59.00 to the contiguous US
  • Flat rate $6.99 on orders under $59.00

We do not offer expedited shipping. No additional fees are added after checkout.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. After processing, standard ground transit takes 5 to 7 business days within the contiguous US. Total delivery is typically 6 to 10 business days from order placement.

Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding US federal holidays.

Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or military addresses?

No. We ship to the contiguous United States only (the lower 48 states). We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, military addresses (APO, FPO, DPO), or internationally.

Woven plant baskets are bulky items that require ground freight services, which do not cover these locations at rates we can reliably offer.

How do I track my order?

Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number and a direct link to track your package. If you have not received this email within 4 business days of placing your order, check your spam folder or contact us.

Returns and refunds

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of the delivery date. We cover two situations:

  • Defective or damaged items: We cover return shipping and offer a full refund or replacement
  • Change of mind: You can return unused items within 30 days. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility.

How long does a refund take?

Once we receive and inspect your return, we process refunds within 3 to 5 business days. Your bank or payment provider may take an additional 3 to 5 business days to post the refund to your account.

My basket arrived misshapen. What should I do?

Minor compression from shipping is normal. Set the basket on a flat surface and let it sit at room temperature for 24 to 48 hours. Most baskets return to shape on their own. If yours does not, you can gently reshape it by hand.

If the basket has significant structural damage (broken weave, crushed base), contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photo and your order number. We will arrange a replacement or refund.
